Godzilla appeared in the heart of Hong Kong yesterday - not to scare the crowds but to rekindle their interest in Japanese animation.

The pop culture icon was accompanied around Kowloon and Hong Kong Island by four cosplayers dressed as figures from Japanese animation films.
They toured the city on a double-decker bus to raise awareness of this month's animation festival, Anime & Fantasy, organised by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society.
Fourteen programmes of Japanese anime, including timeless classics and the first and last of the Godzilla series, will be shown.
