Cartoon loons out of tune

AH . . . Bugs Bunny, Tweetie Pie, Sylvester, Daffy Duck. . . What fun and joy . . . what memories of childhood innocence.

Such thoughts instantly grab whenever one comes across these cartoon favourites as they waddle their way through endless parades and promotions.

At least they did for Keeping Posted until we went backstage at a Warner Bros function held at the Grand Hyatt to meet some of these cartoon characters.

Batman, for example, didn't want to be seen anywhere near Tweetie, Daffy et al and was indignant at the very suggestion that he should be snapped with the others. (We were on the verge of reminding him that it takes absolutely no talent to stand around dressed in a black jump suit and mask.) One organiser then declined to be photographed with Bugs Bunny but nominated someone who could - though not with Batman in the picture as well.

It was loony alright.
