Howard Wilkinson has confirmed his interest in moulding the Chinese national side into a footballing force for the Olympics and beyond.
But there's a major stumbling block - he says he won't move to China.
'I am interested in the job but only with strict conditions,' added the 62-year-old, who was approached by the China Football Association (CFA) last month.
'We [the CFA] have talked, they have floated certain ideas and I have given them my response,' he said.
'At this stage of my life, I would not want to [go and live] in China,' he told the Yorkshire Post.
He spent two months coaching Shanghai Shenhua FC in 2004.
'I am too old to be flattered by the interest, but working at that level of the game is interesting to me, far more now than coaching at club level,' added Wilkinson (pictured), whose last job as a manager was an unsuccessful stint at Sunderland, which ended in the sack after less than a season.
