It was business as usual at Wan Chai disco Fenwick the Dock by week's end after an investigation revealing that South American prostitutes were selling cocaine to clubbers.
While police refuse to say whether they had taken any action at the venue, it was filled to capacity on Friday night.
'Police have been monitoring the crime situation within the district and deploying manpower accordingly and mount operations when necessary,' a police spokesman said.
'We will not comment on details of police operations or actions against a particular premises, but entertainment premises in the Wan Chai bar area have been one of the major concerns in the district.' Police also refused to confirm whether officers with sniffer dogs had been deployed in the streets around the club on Monday night after the drug-dealing revelations.
Several regular patrons told the Post the venue was close to empty on Monday night, with officers standing on the street corners around the night spot.
Last week, an undercover Post reporter was offered cocaine on several occasions inside Fenwick by women claiming to be from Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador.
