STAFF from the Mad Dogs and Joe Bananas bars will stage a pub crawl tomorrow night to raise money for this year's Operation Santa Claus beneficiaries, the Hong Kong Paediatric Bone Marrow Transport Unit and the Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation. ''We have been touched by the work of the foundation and the transplant unit and this is our way of putting something back into the community,'' said Mad Dogs manager Amanda Dock. ''We will have about four teams of four or five staff out on a 'fun run' touring the pubs and bars in Tsim Sha Tsui, Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai collecting for the fund,'' Ms Dock said. She said bar owners had been contacted and their response was overwhelming. ''Everyone wants to help.'' The Hong Kong Swiss Association has donated $14,354 to Operation Santa Claus. The money was raised through selling Swiss delicacies and auctioning a giant bread man. After a lot of careful counting of heavily used banknotes, all the fun at the Godown last week raised not only laughs but also more than $20,000 for the fund. The Operation Santa Claus total now stands at $1,042,197. Donors have a chance to win return tickets for two to Singapore from United Airlines, or other great prizes, by entering the Operation Santa Claus Raffle, details of which can be obtained from Sally Herdman at Radio 3 on 339 6418.
