Stand out: show your true colours
Creative Technologies has been a major force in the portable media player market because of its wide range of well-packaged, full-featured and often colourful products.
Unlike Apple, who had white, then black, as its signature colours, Creative introduced multi-coloured MP3 players, such as its Zen Micro, and more recently the Zen Neeon.
These sport exchangeable covers and a coloured brushed-metal back plate for further personalisation.
The new Zen Neeon 2 is smaller and lighter than any of its predecessors. It is right up-to-date with a 1.5-inch colour screen, and it still has Creative's popular colourful covers.
The Neeon 2 is a mere 12.5mm thick and measures 81 x 42mm. The nano is thinner at 6.9mm, but longer at 90mms. The Neeon 2 is 50 grams, a mere 8 grams more than the nano.
The addition of the colour display means the Neeon 2 is good for photos and videos, as well as playing music.
The Neeon 2 also offers up to six hours more battery life than the nano.
