Shop till you virtually drop
The latest label to open online is Valentino, which has teamed up with Neiman Marcus Direct to add e-commerce to its website. It will offer a selection from the main line, Valentino Roma, Valentino RED and accessories. Italian brand Marni will also be available online from next month.
All change at Cerruti
Fashion house Cerruti has a new owner, designer and chief executive. Private equity firm MatlinPatterson has bought the brand from the now bankrupt Italian conglomerate Fin.part. Nicolas Andreas Taralis has been appointed artistic director, and Philippe Cleach, a lawyer who has worked at the brand for more than 20 years, takes over as chief executive.
Wee Armani
The first Armani Junior store has opened in Harbour City. The new boutique stocks the autumn/winter 2006 collection, which includes military-style uniforms in faded colours, five-pocket jeans in innovative wash treatments and fleece sweaters with graphic prints.
