Three more Chinese clinics to be opened

Three more Chinese medicine clinics would be set up by the end of the year by the Hospital Authority, non-governmental organisations and universities, said Permanent Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food Sandra Lee Suk-yee. Six clinics have already been set up in an attempt to promote Chinese medicine which helps to lay a solid foundation for the industry and academics to pursue further research and development, Ms Lee said. The Department of Health is also developing standards for 60 common herbal medicines which will serve as a reference for the trade and a benchmark for both quality and safety.
