80-year-old suffers head injuries, say the police
An 80-year-old Aberdeen man received head injuries yesterday afternoon after allegedly being assaulted and thrown out of his apartment by his wife and children, police said.
The elderly man injured his head when he was pushed against a wall during the incident before running downstairs to seek help, officers said.
Police have detained the man's 38-year-old wife, 15-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son for questioning, but have not pressed charges.
The alleged assault occurred at about 2.15pm yesterday when the man quarrelled with his family members over money problems in the Kong Hing Court flat in Aberdeen Centre on Nam Ning Street, police said.
The elderly man was allegedly assaulted by his wife and two children inside the apartment during a heated argument, said a police spokeswoman.
'He was then pushed out of the unit before being pushed against a wall injuring his head,' she said.
