Defending champions Happy Valley aim to extend their unbeaten streak when they take on arch-rivals Xiangxue Sun Hei in the curtain-raiser of the Coolpoint Ventilation First Division at Hong Kong Stadium today. Valley have not lost in the league since mid-way through last season and team manager Shek Kam-wah hopes they can kick off the season with another convincing win. 'We've won seven matches in a row in the league and it will give us a morale booster if we can keep the record running in the beginning of the season,' said Shek. 'The players have maintained a very good understanding among each other as we've not changed the squad that much and they have shown some good performances during pre-season training.' Valley released Brazilian Clodoaldo de Oliveira in the off-season and his place has been filled by another Brazilian forward, Victor Manique de Jesus. 'The new striker has been with us for a month and has already proved his ability. He has speed and can penetrate into the defence on his own,' said Shek. Sun Hei, meanwhile, will see Hong Kong international Lau Chi-keung back in action after an absence of eight months. Lau suffered a knee injury when playing for the SAR team at the East Asian Games in Macau last year. However, the midfielder will probably make his appearance today as a substitute because he is unlikely to be in the starting line-up. The HKFA will offer fans a free ticket for Wednesday's Asian Cup qualifier with Uzbekistan if they buy a ticket for today's game.
