If you thought The Devil Wears Prada was controversial, think again. The latest fashion expose to hit the bookshelves is Fashion Babylon by Imogen Edwards-Jones, who revealed the dark side of the hotel industry in her 2004 release, Hotel Babylon. As a source of the fashion world's scandalous secrets, the author had an 'unknown' collaborator (who prefers to remain anonymous, quel surprise). The book sets out to explore the underbelly of fashion and traces the life of an unknown fictional designer, from the creation of her inaugural collection to her first magazine cover. The details are not left to the imagination and fashionistas will love the snide comments, bitchy incidents and little tips on where to find vintage sunglasses and how to eat in the company of super-skinny editors. Don't worry if you don't get into the book - the TV rights have already been picked up. Available at www.amazon.co.uk for #12 (HK$177).
