You might think socialite Gigi Fu Ming-hin (below) has fallen on hard times since husband Yip Kim-po's business hit the rocks in July. And Yip, chairman of Ocean Grand, has gone missing.
But it turns out the enthusiastic dog-lover has reportedly donated more than HK$1 million to have a Sai Kung centre of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals named after her, with the naming ceremony to take place this month. Apparently the Sai Kung centre has two other big sponsors, so CitySeen wonders why it is being named after Gigi Fu? Could it be that Fu, who attends SPCA activities regularly and who donates large amounts of money to it each year, is also SPCA president?
The society's spokesman declined to confirm news of the renaming with CitySeen yesterday.
