If your black book is full of caring companies with deep pockets, this non-profit organisation needs your help. Outward Bound Hong Kong was established in 1970 as a non-governmental organisation focusing on providing the Hong Kong community with experiences that allow them to explore their potential. 'We are all passionate about our mission and bring our high energy with us every day,' said Jason McFarlane, staff manager of Outward Bound Hong Kong. At present, a corporate client manager is needed to liaise with Hong Kong's businesses and public services to promote Outward Bound Hong Kong's experiential education programmes. Tasks include identifying and selling to new clientele as well as developing meaningful long-term relationships with repeat customers. 'This role is for someone who is committed to building and maintaining relationships for an extended period of time,' Mr McFarlane said. Someone who would get satisfaction from the outcomes of the courses sold would enjoy this job. 'One challenge is attaining a true understanding of the Outward Bound product and how it relates to corporate clients,' said Mr McFarlane, adding that an outgoing person who could communicate in English, Cantonese and Putonghua would have an advantage. Applicants should also have a bachelor's degree and three to 10 years of work experience in sales, public relations, marketing or communications. Based in the organisation's Causeway Bay office, the manager will spend at least one day a week at the Tai Mong Tsai base in Sai Kung attending meetings and liaising with the 90 staff who work for Outward Bound. Adventurous spirits will enjoy unique conditions of employment. All new staff get to attend an Outward Bound course as a participant before starting work. This course may vary in length from eight to 24 days and will be run locally or overseas.
