Name: Vincci Hui Wai-sum

School: Diocesan Girls' School

Grade: Form Three

Sport: Triathlon

Achievements: Vincci, 14, won the sprint triathlon (female elite junior category) at the Hong Kong Festival of Sports in 2005 and 2006. In 2005, she was part of the 4x1,500-metre relay team that set the Hong Kong record at the Hong Kong Open Athletic Meet. In the same year, she won the Hong Kong ITU Asian Cup Triathlon (female junior category),  Desaru Pengerang International Triathlon (female under-14) in Malaysia, and the OSIM Singapore Asian Triathlon Championship (female u-12).

Following her victories, Vincci  received a 2005 Hong Kong Potential Sports Stars Award, presented by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.

Soundbite: 'I started with swimming, then running and finally cycling. I love to practise. Training six days a week is never boring. I always look forward to the practice sessions and meeting new friends. I'm excited to be a member of  Hong Kong's  national triathlon squad.'

From her coach: 'Wai-sum is very talented. Her early start in triathlon has  helped her succeed. She shows great passion and always works hard. She definitely has the potential to be an elite Asian junior triathlete in the near future,' said Wan Shu-wah, triathlon coach at the Hong Kong Sports Institute.

Ambitions: Vincci is trying to improve her overall skills  in time for her next race - the OSIM Hong Kong Triathlon next month (for entry forms, check out www.hktriathlon.com).
