A LAS VEGAS-BASED architectural and interior design firm that has worked on projects for some of the world's top hotel and casino groups is looking to hire a new team for a Zhuhai office opening in the next six months.

The Paul Steelman Design Group first entered Asia in 2002 when it won a contract to design the multimillion-dollar Sands Macau casino. Offices were opened in Hong Kong and Macau to oversee that project and the company is now expanding with its first mainland branch, which will employ interior design, animation and graphic design staff.

The work involves creating two and three-dimensional graphic images, while animators will work on full-motion videos to illustrate and explain upcoming projects.

According to James Wong, the group's managing architect for Asia, animators and computer graphic technicians now play a vital role because full-motion videos are essential for marketing and when dealing with prospective clients.

'We are looking for people who can help transform visions into reality,' Mr Wong said.

Candidates need a good eye for detail, three to five years of relevant experience, and the necessary professional qualifications. There will be about 40 positions available and at least 12 of the more senior posts are likely to be filled by applicants from Hong Kong.
