Two high-end hotels will open in Kowloon in the next few years, raising the bar for hotel operators in this burgeoning part of the city.
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, will be set on the upper 15 floors of the International Commerce Centre (ICC), immediately above the top three dining and observation deck floors. And Starwood Group's W Hotel will make its Hong Kong debut next door in Union Square.
The Ritz-Carlton group believes that the property, 1,574 feet above the ground, will be 'a showcase of contemporary design and the highest hotel in the world'.
It will have 300 spacious rooms and suites fitted with advanced technological enhancements. The signature Ritz-Carlton Club level will offer sweeping harbour views, complimentary 24-hour food and dedicated butler or concierge services, according to a Ritz-Carlton spokeswoman.
Set to open in 2009, the hotel will have three fine-dining restaurants and a lobby lounge and bar. About 13,000 sqft will be set aside for meetings and banquets, including a 7,000 sqft grand ballroom.
