Studies have shown that playing computer games makes surgeons more skilful.  They find it easier to control  extremely delicate movements during  surgery.

If computer games are good for surgeons,  maybe they are good for students. Online gaming  trains the mind, and  lets teenagers  make new friends.

Computer game  players have to  remain focused for long periods of time.  They have to develop strategies and outwit their opponents.

Game-playing teenagers  are given the chance to think outside textbooks, focus on something other than examination papers, and plan something apart from timetables.

The skills acquired during gaming are  beneficial  to our daily  lives. Playing computer games  trains us to be more patient and alert.

What's more,  online gaming brings people together from around the world.   It is a safe way to  communicate with  strangers, who may soon become friends.

Some people  say that online gaming will lead to addiction.  But it's no more addictive than any other  hobby.

It is only when people fail to control themselves  that online gaming can cause harm. Excessive gaming has its potential dangers, but so does an excess of anything. The advantages  of online

gaming  outweigh the disadvantages.

In recent years, online gaming has become increasingly popular.  Many people say

it provides a relaxing and friendly environment.  But is it  really that beneficial?

As there is no face-to-face contact,  online gamers don't have to be responsible for their actions. They can say what they like, and not worry about the consequences.

Most online games divide players according to level or experience. This could encourage higher scorers to mock less experienced players. It could create a class system within the game.  Beginners would be looked down  on and  barred from the social circle.

Also, as technology develops, it becomes easier for players to cheat. This creates a lack of trust within the gaming community. Players are only interested in their own success, and will do anything

to succeed.

Added to the fact that many games require a monthly fee, gamers  try to play the games longer and get the most of their money. Some even admit to  playing for 20 hours straight.

While some people  claim that having  will power  is enough to avoid becoming addicted, many players, especially teenagers,  will find it  very hard to resist the attraction of the games.

Game addiction will have a negative impact on your life and personal relationships.
