In case you're wondering what the heck is happening to those movie theatres in the Pacific Place mall, its operators sent out a press release late last week with some updated details about the space, which has been closed for close to a year now. For one thing, it will no longer be a UA theatre. The new and improved multiplex will now be called the AMC Pacific Place, to be operated by AMC in partnership with Edko Films, which already manages the Broadway Circuit. As for the renovation, they say it will be completed soon and the theatre will reopen at the end of the year. At this point, however, the press release deteriorates into inane creative writing by suggesting the new first-class movie hall will 'soothe your nerves', 'sweeten your memories' and 'lighten your life'. To emphasise the point, the mailing included small bottles of shower gel and moisturizer. Thanks for the gifts but ... hello? Will we be watching movies or getting a Swedish massage?
