Man tried to eat evidence of revealing pictures
A truck driver who used his mobile phone to take photographs up women's skirts was convicted yesterday - despite an effort to eat the evidence.
Eastern Court heard that while Lau Ah-shing, 33, was being questioned by police he grabbed the phone's memory card, containing 156 revealing pictures, and chewed and swallowed most of it.
But police had already copied the images and Lau was convicted of behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place and obstructing a police officer. He had pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Johnny Chan Jong-herng remanded him in custody pending background, psychiatric and psychological reports for sentencing on October 19.
The court heard that on June 1 two plain-clothes officers saw Lau, a married man, put his phone under the skirt of a 20-year-old woman on an escalator in a Causeway Bay shopping mall. He was arrested and taken to the Wan Chai police station for questioning.
While the officer taking his statement showed him the pictures of the woman on the phone, Lau snatched the phone, removed the memory card and tried to eat it.
