{Exclusive living}
DEVELOPMENT Island Grove, completed in 2004, is an exclusive boutique town house development nestled near the sea in Deep Water Bay, one of Hong Kong's most prestigious addresses. It consists of five three-storey town houses positioned to take advantage of the fantastic views of the bay and the marina club on Middle Island.
DESIGN AND LAYOUT The house design is modern. The white and sandstone exterior is complemented with terracotta coloured highlights. The front garden of each house is landscaped with a lawn and trees to create a relaxing beachside atmosphere. Houses range from 5,088 sqft to 5,300 sqft. The efficient layout consists of a combined living and dining room on the ground floor, master bedroom, guest bedroom and a family room on the first floor, and two extra bedrooms on the top floor. All bedrooms are served by luxuriously designed en suite bathrooms. Large windows allow for full sea views and the interior space is light and airy. Each detached house has a private lift, connecting all floors, a private plunge pool and rooftop terrace.
LOCATION Because this is a small boutique development there is no clubhouse, but there is a swimming pool exclusively for residents. The neighbourhood, at the foot of Shouson Hill on the south side of Hong Kong Island near Repulse Bay, is small and exclusive, with large houses facing the sea or the Deep Water Bay Golf Club. According to estate agent Landscope Surveyors, Island Grove is one of a few gated communities in the high-end residential market of Deep Water Bay. It is a short drive to the shopping and recreational facilities at Repulse Bay and Stanley. Country parks, golf course, yacht club and international schools of Island South are all nearby. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Central through the Aberdeen tunnel.
