A year ago, these pages featured the crib Hong Kong-based Gaelle Echene and her husband Mathias built for their newborn after an unsuccessful hunt for something readymade. Now, having put their design into production, the couple are hoping other parents will see the beauty of their transparent cot. The Minibij ('bij' being short for bijou) Invisibed is made of see-through acrylic and adjusts to three mattress heights. Coloured side panels and a protective foam bumper are available. The cot costs HK$9,500 from Lane Crawford, Pacific Place, Admiralty.
