Wardrobe staple?

As a mother of two children under the age of two, a good pair of jeans that make me look slender and  a pair of pretty flip- flops are essential. I got my newest pairs - Paige Premium Denim and Hudson -  recently, but I still love my Citizens.

What clothes do you look best in?

I love wearing pretty dresses  and feeling feminine, especially if they're custom-made.

Describe your style?

During the day, it's simple, casual chic. At night, I prefer more feminine and flirty styles - and if occasion warrants, then it's something more dazzling.

Top three favourite fashion designers?

Oscar de la Renta for his  cool sophistication and  fabulous designs; Reem  Acra for her intricate  beading and embroidery;  and Monique Lhuillier for  her romantic elegance.

Fashion no-nos?

Too much of everything at  the same time - for example,  overdone hair, too much make-up or jewellery and  over-the- top shoes. I prefer one accent,  or at most, two at a time.

Favourite colours?

My favourite colour changes often. I'm back to reds and pinks now, perhaps because I just had a baby girl. When I had my son, Luke, it was shades of blue.

Has motherhood changed  your fashion style?

Definitely. I tend to choose clothes that are simple, machine-washable and easy to roll around in with my babies.

I wear flats all the time  and the size of my bags have gotten bigger. I make a big effort for girls' nights out, though.

Handbag pick for this season?

My Ferragamo Gancio tote. It's an oversized satchel that fits everything, including my diaper kit, books and files.

Favourite shoe designers?

Christian Louboutin,  Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi, Roger  Vivier  and Dior.

Must-have accessories?

My wedding ring, watch and diamond stud earrings.

Most expensive fashion item?

My husband gave me a stunning Van Cleef baby gift when I had my first child.

Your favourite scent?

I prefer warm subtle scents such as Prada Parfum or Bois d'Iris.

Favourite shopping destination?

New York, because there's something for everyone and more: Bergdorf for myself,  FAO Schwartz for my kids and Niketown for my husband.

Style icon?

The always elegant Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

Fashion disaster?

My big, permed hair in the 1980s. When my husband saw  photos of it he almost had our marriage annulled.
