IF YOU HAVE already scaled the heights of business and want to remain at the top, it pays to devote time to helping colleagues still ascending the career ladder.
Midland Holdings, a real estate company publicly listed in Hong Kong, has taken this strategy to heart. It has been recognised as one of Forbes Asia's most successful public companies and has won numerous other property industry plaudits.
As part of its campaign to stay in pole position, the company, which operates more than 400 branches under two brand names, has established a new programme entitled Management Associates (Innovation).
According to director Willis Koo, this was initiated at group level in response to some of the dramatic changes taking place in the Hong Kong market.
'The most important investment decisions most people make relate to investing in property,' Mr Koo said.
'In the past decade, they have therefore come to expect higher levels of professionalism and service excellence.'
