A leading global education firm has extended its reach into China through a partnership with a Beijing-based English-language training company.
Kaplan Inc, a company that offers English-language training around the globe, has licensed the Beijing New Channel Education and Cultural Development Co to use its language-training products.
New Channel provides English-language training and test preparation for 80,000 students planning to take university language exams. The company has 10 learning centres in universities across China. Professor Hu Min, who founded New Channel in 2004, said the company was looking forward to bringing language education in China to the next level.
Chief executive of Kaplan Asia, Mark Coggins, said Kaplan had had a financial-training business in China for a couple of years and had been looking for opportunities to extend its product range.
'It's a very cool market for us and we're keen to continue to build our business there,' he said.
