The island has a reputation for alternative lifestyles and views - here are a handful of the most vocal Lamma-ites.

The Lamma Fun Day organiser, Yeung was asked to take over the charity event in 2004 after the original organiser, Andrew Doig, left Hong Kong.

Last year, the event attracted 5,000 people and raised HK$117,868 in much-needed funds for underprivileged children in Nepal.

Yeung grew up in Canada and travelled extensively around South America and Asia, before settling on Lamma in 1997.
