Name: Jules Varma Age: 13 City/Country: Paris, France School Name: College Jules Romain Star sign: Cancer I'm a calm and reserved person with a sharp sense of humour. I live with my parents and sister. My mother is demanding, while my father is a maniac who likes everything to be extra clean. My sister Hema-Lou is nine. She's a pain in the neck. I also have a dog called Tulipe (pictured right). She's a small white dog with pointy black ears and no tail. She's a toy fox terrier, which is a pure breed from the US. I spend my free time reading, playing sports or going to the movies. I live next to the Champs Elysees, where there are many cinemas. Sometimes I play squash with my dad. On special days of the year, such as New Year's day and Christmas, my sister and I are allowed to eat whatever we want, so we usually choose foie gras, salmon eggs, lots of vegetables and ice cream. We also enjoy setting off fireworks. Whenever we do this at my grandmother's house, it wakes up my great-grandmother who lives just two houses down the village street. During holidays, my family and I will travel to the countryside. We have a country house in La Poterie, which is a 90 minute drive southwest of Paris. In the countryside, I play table tennis and go cycling with my dad. I'll also practise shooting arrows with my bow and go swimming. Sometimes I invite friends to our house. We often light a fire in the fireplace in the evenings, when it is cold. We also sometimes travel to Hong Kong and India to visit relatives. Hong Kong and Paris are completely different from each other. Paris has beautiful buildings and wonderful food. It is a beautiful city, but there is too much dog poop on the streets. In Hong Kong, I can play tennis and go swimming at a pool every day - something I can't always do in Paris. At home, I don't have to cook, but I enjoy it. Sometimes we'll have Indian meals, Chinese food or French cuisine. My mum is an imaginative cook. I help with household chores. For example, I have to clean my bedroom and occasionally walk the dog. In school, I study maths, German, French, history, geography and science. I spend about 90 minutes doing school work every day. In the long term, I'd like to have a job related to science.
