The Hong Kong Ballet welcomed its new artistic director John Meehan with a cocktail reception at the Cultural Centre earlier this month.

About 100 guests, including government officials and arts patrons, toasted the former dancer turned choreographer.
Honorary patron Selina Tsang presented Meehan with a stamp of the ballet to represent the passing of the company's artistic path into
his hands.
After the reception, the ballet's first production under its new steward, Balanchine and Beyond, was performed.

Among the audience were legislator Emily Lau Wai-hing, ballet board chair Cissy Pao Watari and local dance school founder Jean M. Wong.
