The knock-on effect from a construction boom in Asia is the increasing need for interior designers - and there are excellent career opportunities for them.

The sixth-largest architectural practice in the world in staff numbers, Aedas has more than 1,600 workers in 25 offices throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. The global firm offers expertise in architecture, interior design, urban design, landscape and graphic design.

Functioning under the umbrella of the Aedas Group, Aedas Interiors, with more than 80 staff, is involved in many prestigious, large and unique projects, in hospitality (casinos, hotels and resorts) and corporate interiors, according to director Nenad Bratic.

Some of the company's recent interior projects include the Hong Kong Jockey Club members' facilities at the Happy Valley racecourse, The Luxe Manor in Hong Kong, Hilton Hotels in Beijing and Xiamen and the corporate offices in Hong Kong for AIG, Bank of East Asia and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Aedas Interiors also has projects in the Middle East. The company is designing interiors of the Al Mas DMCC Tower which accommodates the Diamond Exchange in Dubai and the Bahrain World Trade Centre.

'Due to our continued growth, opportunities exist for 10 senior designers with strong technical expertise, initiative and ability to lead teams of up to 12 members,' Mr Bratic said, noting that some of the projects were at the design, development and documentation stages.
