Not getting enough sleep? There are ways to cheat if your eyes are puffy and ringed with dark circles in the morning. Eye creams and gels promise to reduce lines and brighten eyes. Try these products after a hard night.
1. Jurlique's Eye Gel (HK$1,155/30ml) contains arnica, which is said to help stimulate sluggish circulation. It also features eyebright, a herb that has anti-inflammatory properties. 2. Elemis' Bright Eyes Recovery Gel (HK$850/10ml) has horsetail, a plant extract said to help reduce puffiness, and mallow, to stop inflammation. There are also moisturising polysaccharides and water of blue corn-flower, which reportedly wards off toxins. Available at Joyce Beauty stores.
3. Na?r Contour Eye Cream (HK$800/15ml) has the key ingredient of nacre - a substance from Polynesian pearls that contains cytokines to give 'cell cohesion and induce lifting'. In addition, peptides repair, soothe and smooth the skin, the maker says. Available from Joyce Beauty stores and New World Store, Tsim Sha Tsui.
4. Darphin's Dark Circles Relief and De-puffing Eye Serum (HK$480/15ml) helps reduce puffiness and dark circles, smooth the eye area, revive and brighten. Key ingredients are the brand's trademark concoction, eyeliss - a combination of peptides and glycerin - passionflower, rose, liquorice extract and sodium hyaluronate. 5. Benefit's Eyecon (HK$270/14 grams) is said to fade dark circles. It contains citrus sinensis extract and orange fruit from Spain, which stimulate the microcirculation of the skin.
