Train groping suspect arrested
Updated at 1.15pm: A male designer who had been sexually molested by a man at an MTR station has helped police apprehend the suspect by drawing a sketch of him, a newspaper reported on Friday.
The 25-year-old designer earlier told police that he had been sexually molested on a platform of the Wan Chai MTR station at least six times since May, Apple Daily reported.
The newspaper said the sexual assaults occurred just when the train stopped and passengers were boarding and exiting.
The designer told police that when he was boarding the train, he felt his genitals were groped by someone from the crowd of exiting passengers, Apple Daily reported.
Initially, the designer did not take it seriously. But he later realised that this was no coincidence when he recognised it was the same man whom he encountered each time.
The designer later drew a sketch of the suspect and handed it over to police. They subsequently arrested a 20-year-old man in the Wan Chai MTR station on Thursday morning, Apple Daily reported.
