Wong Wing-suen, 88, fell on Queen's Road West at about 11am. 'He lost balance when he saw vehicles approaching and dashed backward to avoid being hit,' a police spokeswoman said. The man was taken to Queen Mary Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 11.49am. Surgeon fails in lawsuit against anaesthetist A surgeon who suffered nerve damage to his left hand after a prostate operation has failed to win HK$1.7 million compensation from the anaesthetist he accused of causing the injury. Mr Justice Azizul Suffiad, in the Court of First Instance, dismissed a personal injuries suit by Frank Yu Yu-kai against Chan Chi-keung after finding the anaesthetist had not been negligent during the May 2001 operation. Victory for lawyer High-profile lawyer Donald Koo Hoi-yan has successfully appealed against an attempt by his former bosses to have him declared in contempt of court.
