More than 600 ice skaters from Hong Kong, the mainland and Macau will show off their skills at the 2006 ISI Skate Hong Kong, which kicks off today at Festival Walk Glacier.
Some events of the competition will be held at the Cityplaza Ice Palace on Saturday and Sunday. No events are scheduled for tomorrow.
The skaters, aged five to 47, come from five teams from Hong Kong and one each from Beijing, Shenzhen and Macau.
They will be competing at various levels in freestyle, solo and team compulsories, jump and spin, as well as production team.
Among them is Wayne Chung Wing-yin, 10, who won the freestyle 6, team compulsories 6 and was the first runner-up in solo compulsories 6 last year.
He will be concentrating on team compulsories 9 this year.
