A top youth orchestra from Australia will give a free concert at International Christian Quality Music Secondary and Primary School next month.

The Melbourne Grammar School (MGS) Symphony Orchestra will also tour the mainland and perform in Guangzhou and Shanghai.

Under the baton of the school's music director, Martin Rutherford, the 70-member orchestra will play Weber's Clarinet Concertino, Liszt's Totentanz for Piano and Orchestra, the Cello Concerto (3rd movement) by Dvorak, and Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 (1st movement). They will also collaborate with the International School Choir.

The MGS orchestra was founded in 1955 and has played at major Australian events. The students have also played for Queen Elizabeth II.
