Happy Valley team convener Koon Wing-yee has brought in two Brazilian reinforcements to try to end his side's poor string of results. Midfielder Vandre Monteiro and centre forward Icaro de Oliveira, who have both played in the Brazil state leagues, are set to become Valley's latest potential saviours following their biggest defeat this season on Sunday. They were beaten 4-3 by newly promoted WoFoo Tai Po. The defending champions are sixth in the standings. Although the two expatriates are not big names, Koon said he expected the arrival of new faces to stimulate competition among his squad. 'Some players failed to perform against Tai Po,' said Koon. 'With more competition players know they have to work hard to make the starting line-up.' At 27, Monteiro is expected to bolster the attack for Valley from midfield, while 1.91-metre De Oliveira, 22, will threaten the defenders with his height. Valley have been looking for a striker following the departure of Hugo Manique De Jesus for rivals Xiangxue Sun Hei last month. Team manager Shek Kam-wah said the duo looked fine after their arrival on the weekend.
