I REFER to the letter headlined, ''At least get my name right'', from Lam Nyuk Lei (South China Morning Post, December 21) regarding the mis-spelling of his name on examination documents.

Mis-spelling of candidates names sometimes occurs due to key-punching errors and that is why the Hong Kong Examination Authority always reminds candidates to check their personal particulars carefully when the Candidate Entry Information Checklists and Admission Forms are issued in November and March respectively. If candidates notify us (of any mistake) in time, we are able to amend our computer records and incorporate the correct information in the subsequent examination documents.

I can assure Mr Lam that his correct name will appear in his future A-Level Examination documents because the computer records on his particulars have now been amended. S.Y. CHUT Examinations Officer Hong Kong Examinations Authority
