Don't waste the unsold bread
1-MIN READ1-MIN
ONE night after work, I bought a French baguette from the Times Square Park'N Shop just minutes before it closed. The baguette was a bit hard as it had been in the air conditioning for the whole day so I was charged half price.
As I was going up the escalator, I was shocked to see one of the staff throwing away the rest of the unsold baguettes into a huge rubbish bag. How can Park'N Shop waste food like that? Isn't there some way of distributing the leftover bread to hungry street-sleepers or the homeless? I managed to eat all of my baguette and it was definitely edible.
Are there any volunteer groups in Hong Kong that distribute unwanted food to those in need? HELEN LO Happy Valley
