A Muslim restaurant owner plans to sue Guangzhou authorities after his arm was scalded during a raid on his restaurant in which two of his staff were also badly injured. About 20 city management officers went to the small restaurant on Wednesday to confiscate an unauthorised barbecue grill. The staff tried to stop them but were beaten. 'They said nothing and did not even show their identification cards,' said Du Chenghong , owner of Yaxiya Lanzhou Hand-pulled Noodles. 'They took our grill and beat us with their batons. 'Three or four of them pushed me down and put my right arm into hot soup. It hurt terribly,' he said. 'I am looking for a lawyer to help me sue the government.' But a city official said some of the officers were also hurt when 'five of the restaurant staff rushed out with long knives and steel rods', a claim denied by Mr Du.
