About half pupils win place in school of their choice
Aaron Yu had considered taking the radical step of making his elder son repeat Primary Six at an elite school so it had to give a Primary One place to his younger son by law.
But teachers at La Salle Primary School talked him out of it. Yesterday he left the Kowloon Tong school disappointed after learning the younger son had been rejected in the first phase of Primary One admissions for the next school year.
'I will apply [to the school] again via central allocation,' he said.
His elder son is a Form One student at the secondary section of the school.
Mr Yu said he knew a school place could only be secured when a sibling studied in the primary, not the secondary section of a school, so had considered asking his elder son to repeat the year.
