NATIONAL Mutual Life Association of Australasia (NMLA) will sell its 50 per cent interest in the National Mutual Centre in Wan Chai. NMLA, which owns 73.46 per cent of National Mutual Asia, said the proposed disposal was designed to reduce the proportionate weighting of its investment in real estate. But National Mutual Asia said it would keep its 50 per cent interest in the building, as the ownership demonstrated its long-term commitment to Hong Kong and enhanced its image. It said it did not believe it would be in the best interests of the company to buy NMLA's 50 per cent interest in National Mutual Centre. National Mutual Centre, at 151 Gloucester Road, provides a gross floor area of about 298,255 square feet. The property is 61 per cent occupied by National Mutual Asia.
