Triathlete Daniel Lee Chi-wo and Leung Ying-suet dominated the Nike 10km Challenge in Tin Shui Wai on Sunday. Lee clocked 33:07 minutes to clinch the men's open title, while Leung snatched the women's open crown with a time of 38:36. The victory provided a significant boost for Lee ahead of next month's Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Up-and-coming long-distance runners, Man Siu-kit and Ng Hei-man, were crowned men's and women's junior champions, respectively. Lee said the victory came just at the right time as he prepared for the regional showpiece, although his time was slower than expected due to the humid weather. 'I'm happy with my result. It shows my fitness level and I can adjust it before leaving for Doha,' he said. 'Although I was among the leading group all the way to the finish, I felt that I didn't produce my best as the weather was very humid. I hope I can improve myself in time and win a medal for Hong Kong in Doha.' Lee holds the course record of 31:17 which he set two years ago. Organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Association, the race had eight categories - one less than last year. These included the men's and women's junior (age 16-19), men's and women's open (age 20-34), men's and women's senior (age 35-44) and men's and women's veteran (age 45 or above). Both Lee and Leung were named overall champions.
