Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle (The Yoshinagas' Gargoyle) is a new anime series being broadcast in Japan about a typical Japanese family and their pet gargoyle. The series is slated for an initial 13 episodes.

Taguchi Sennendo wrote the original work and Kagari Tamaoka illustrated the manga version for a series in Magi-Cu (Magical-Cute) magazine.

The anime is produced by Studio Hibari and Trinet Entertainment, who also made Kashimashi - Girl Meets Girl, Venus Versus Virus, Sumomo mo Momo mo - Chijo Saikyo no Yome, Final Approach and Koi Koi 7.

The anime revolves around the relationship between a young girl called Futaba and Gar-kun (short for 'gargoyle').

When Futaba wins first prize in a street market lottery, she is given a stone gargoyle that looks like a dog with bat wings on its back. Even more surprisingly, the gargoyle can speak.

She brings him home and Gar-kun positions himself at the gate of the Yoshinaga family's home. He tells any passersby: 'I am the gatekeeper of Yoshinaga', and strangers who don't identify themselves when approaching the Yoshinaga homestead get zapped.
