Taiwanese brand Dopod has come a long way in both the design and functionality of their PDA phones.
Not only is the company the first to introduce a PDA phone supporting HSDPA (3.5G technology capable of up to three megabits per second of high speed wireless connectivity), but its smartphones are some of the thinnest around.
Despite its looks, Dopod's new C720W is not 3G, nor is it a PDA phone.
The Quadband GSM unit is instead powered by Windows Smartphone, not Windows Mobile. This means it doesn't have a touch screen for input.
What Dopod has done is to build a full (albeit mini) QWERTY keypad into the C720W.
While product shots make the unit look like a dull and chunky PDA, its size and thinness, at 12.8mm, is impressive and surprisingly sleek.
Its rounded edges make it comfortable to hold, and it is only slightly wider than a standard candy bar phone.
