Mosse looks set to get the best out of Dragon And Gold

The persuasive powers of French riding ace Gerald Mosse have worked a miracle on several underperforming horses this season and he now looks set to turn around the fortunes of capable Dragon And Gold when they team up in the opening leg of tomorrow night's Triple Trio at Happy Valley.

With the TT being only partially won last week, the main prize on offer is expected to reach over HK$14 million and the front-running Dragon And Gold looks a standout banker given the lack of depth in the event.

This season, Mosse has managed to get the best out of reluctant horses Durable, Noble Zoom, Palio King, Cypress Hill and Rocket Win and even made veteran Red Pepper produce his best after a winless 33 months.

While it has only been 14 months since Dragon And Gold's last success, the Last Tycoon gelding has proved to be a disappointment.

He now finds himself very well placed in Class Four, however, given that his last success came in Class Three.

The Dennis Yip Chor-hong-trained gelding resumed from a spell four weeks ago and turned in a sound performance to finish third to Beauty Plus after pushing hard early from the outside barrier and then setting a hectic speed under apprentice Terry Wong Chi-wai.
