As Oxfam Hong Kong celebrates its 30th anniversary, a small, powerful exhibition of photo-graphs shows the compelling work of this organisation. Featuring images by local and international photographers, the show presents a set of emotional images tied directly to Oxfam's projects in Asia.
It's hard not to be affected by them. This comes in part from the rarity of art that actually contributes to real-world change.
Organised by Madeleine Marie Slavick, the editor of Oxfam Magazine and a local poet and photographer, the show isn't just a collection of photographs; it's evidence of the work being done every day around the region. They record admirable sacrifice and concern - a rarity in a city such as Hong Kong. They also show the enabling power of Oxfam.
