SIXTEEN-year-old Robyn Lamsam, a 1992 winner, is strongly fancied for honours again as she has proven to be the best woman swimmer ever produced in Hong Kong. Robin, Hong Kong's only woman swimmer at last year's Barcelona Olympics, is sacrificing her schooling for one year so she can prepare herself for a medals assault at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima. She spends most of her time training and competing overseas, but she still attends the Diocesan Girls' School whenever possible if she is in the territory. Her full-time training is already showing results as she now holds seven individual Hong Kong records - for the 50 m, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and 800 m freestyle, 50 m and 100 m butterfly and 200 m individual medley. She is also a member of the relay teams who set the national 4 x 100 m freestyle and 4 x 100 m medley marks. The Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association also nominated breaststroke specialist Snowie Pang Wan-yiu.
