This week, two Italian food experts will be plying their trade in town. Truffle hunter Sandrino Tartufi (right) has been appearing at the Gaia Group's ristorantes this week sharing his knowledge about the fragrant fungus. '[My interest] stems from my love of dogs,' the native of Alba explained. 'The relationship between man and dog is very special. Any breed can hunt for truffles if they are trained well from a young age. I have a black terrier. As for truffles, size makes no difference to the taste. Large or small, they are equally as flavourful as long as they are fresh. Larger ones are more expensive because they are more difficult to find.' Tartufi will be at Va Bene today and tomorrow and Isola on Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile at the Garden Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Francesco Sabatini, a co-founder of the original Sabatini Ristorante Italiano will be greeting diners at Sabatini. He will be here until December 12.
