JIVE BOY was friendless in the market in last night's fifth event won by Team Valour but he is well worth watching out for in the future. He was starting for the third time last night since arriving from New Zealand where he only raced a couple of times and has been gradually improving for his trainer Alex Wong Siu-tan. The outing before last night he was trapped wide all the way and last night he was noted staying on well on his first attempt on the equitrack to finish hard on the heels of the place-getters. Sure Day was a very warm favourite in the opening event and his run is best forgotten as he lost the race at the start. He got too far behind in this 1,030-metre dash on the dirt but can win a similar event in Class Six, especially if more forceful riding tactics are adopted at the start. Global Star was noted staying on well to be fourth to easy winner Star Of Marble in the fourth event and seems to be coming back to form. He has produced some good equitrack runs in the past and could just pop up at decent odds in the next couple of outings. He has dropped down the weights to a very handy rating.
