WHO director-general departs for Japan World Health Organisation director-general Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun left Hong Kong for Japan yesterday after her three-day visit to the city and Macau. Hong Kong's former director of health said gate-keeping was important in disease prevention. TravelWeekly China, at its biannual industry awards last Monday, praised the airport for offering the best airport facilities. The airport, at Chek Lap Kok, was also named the best airport in China in the Business Traveller China Awards 2006 earlier last month. Readers of SmartTravelAsia.com picked it as the best airport worldwide in the online magazine's Best in Travel Poll 2006. Immigration study group A 20-member Immigration Department delegation started an eight-day study programme on the mainland. It is the third Mainland Study Programme at Beijing Gong An University. The officers will attend lectures on the mainland's legal and constitutional systems and police administrative management.
