It was a week where young people learned how to help others and underprivileged children had a chance to try new things.
The activities were all part of the annual Operation Santa Claus campaign organised by the South China Morning Post and RTHK.
Last Saturday, 67 students from a primary school in Tin Shui Wai visited the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, as part of a Caritas programme to expose deprived children to new experiences.
They were taught sailing and later decorated their own gingerbread houses to take home.
Many of the young children come from broken homes or low-income families, where there's no money for extras at Christmas. Some of the children are new arrivals from the mainland.
David Begbie, head of Crossroads International, visited Shun Tak School in Yuen Long. He talked to the children about Aids and how they could raise funds for HIV-infected people.
