Networking opportunities are routinely cited by MBA graduates as one of the key benefits of doing an MBA.

Many students find that they learn as much - if not more - from their classmates.

The chance to interact with mid-career professionals from different industries performing a wide variety of jobs can be one of the most rewarding aspects of a return to the classroom.

Because close relationships can develop among students as they work in groups or teams on projects, many keep in touch with each other after they graduate. Some do so on an informal basis, meeting with former classmates once a month for dinner or drinks.

Others take it a step further, organising or joining alumni associations, which engage in a variety of activities, most of which are aimed at keeping student networks alive and growing.

The Ivey Alumni Association Hong Kong Chapter was founded in 1999 shortly after the first EMBA class was admitted to the school's then new Hong Kong programme.
